No. You invite them by email for free — they set a password and use ShiftQ right in the browser, or install it to their home screen if they like. Only the owner picks a plan later; nothing is paid during beta.
Yes. Each business's data is isolated from every other, connections are encrypted, and employee photos are private. We follow GDPR principles, and you (the owner) can export all your data anytime from Settings.

Yes — ShiftQ installs on your phone or computer like a regular app, no App Store or Google Play needed. A native app in the stores is on the roadmap. Installing isn't required either way: every feature works the same way right in the browser, like a regular website.
If it's more convenient to just open the site in a browser, that works completely fine too — installing is only for people who want a home-screen icon.

Create a location, add your team, and drop shifts onto the week — a few minutes of work. After that the rota runs itself: everyone sees their own shifts, asks for swaps and time off in the app, and you just approve. Change it whenever you like; everyone sees the current version straight away.
Yes. Shifts crossing midnight are created and drawn on both days, and one account holds several locations — view them separately or together.
A spreadsheet notifies nobody, and in a chat the schedule sinks under messages. Here each person sees only their own shifts and gets a push when something changes. To be straight about the limits: ShiftQ plans shifts, it does not count hours worked.
Scheduling doesn't belong in Telegram, Excel, or DMs
